Headlines 2007 Conference!
Mississippi Paralysis Association (MPA) and the LIFE are pleased to announce that journalist John Hockenberry will be the keynote speaker at the 2007 Annual Conference.
John Hockenberry is probably best recognized as a Dateline NBC Correspondent. His experience as a journalist and commentator spans for more than two decades and includes assignments with NBC, ABC and NPR. Hockenberry has reported from all over the world. He has been honored with three Peabody Awards, four Emmy Awards, an Edward R. Murrow Award and a Casey Medal. His programs illuminate issues and his investigative reporting has uncovered discrimination and scandals. Hockenberry is responsible for sensitive and insightful reporting on topics related to people with disabilities.
In addition to broadcast journalism, John Hockenberry has also written for The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Columbia Journalism Review and The Washington Post. He has also authored two books: A River Out Of Eden and Moving Violations: War Zones, Wheelchairs and Declarations of Independence.
Hockenberry Lives in New York with his wife and four children (two sets of twins).
John Hockenberry lost the use of his legs at age 19 in an automobile crash.
